Traditional Drum 13 - Geta Beraya
The geta beraya or the drum with the knot ("getaya" in Sinhalese) originates from the hill-country of Sri Lanka. It is traditionally used to accompany Kandyan dance rituals. This drum is made from a variety of wood types including Ehela, Kohomba, Mahogany, Waya or Kos (Jak). The drum face is made of cattle or goat skin. It's played tied around the waist. Made in Sri Lanka.
